The R&E Division of Founder's Trust supports the Founder's Trust mission by scientifically investigating best practices in, programs for, and public policy impacting the treatment, rehabilitation and education of juveniles, adults and families. The R&E Division provides these services via contracts with correctional, educational and treatment providers, governmental agencies, universities, other research groups, and related organizations.

Core R&E Division staff have been conducting research and evaluation for programs serving youth and adults for over 30 years. Areas of interest and expertise include:

  • Program evaluation, including evaluability assessments, writing evaluation plans for proposals and new programs, establishing data management systems, data analysis and reporting of evaluation results, and analysis of existing data sets.

  • Assessment and outcome instrument selection, development, computerization, implementation, workflow management, and training.

  • Consultation on database software selection, database modeling, and real-world integration of clinical and performance improvement processes with software systems.

  • External research project management on behalf of provider organizations.

  • Literature reviews and research to support program development, add to the best practices literature, and provide the foundation for public policy recommendations.
